April Fool's Day


Have you ever wondered the origins of April Fool's Day? While drinking my coffee this morning, I decided to do a bit of research. What I found was quit interesting. There are many speculations as to how it got started. The most widely accepted theory is that in 1582, when France switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, the new year went from being celebrated the last week in March through April 1, to January 1. Those that were skeptics of the change became the butt of jokes and hoaxes. There are many other theories that you can read about.
