Martin Luther

The Reformation
1517-2017
Grace~Faith~Scripture

"Committed to the idea that salvation could be reached through faith and by divine grace only, Luther vigorously objected to the corrupt practice of selling indulgences. Acting on this belief, he wrote the “Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences,” also known as “The 95 Theses,” a list of questions and propositions for debate. Popular legend has it that on October 31, 1517 Luther defiantly nailed a copy of his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle church. The reality was probably not so dramatic; Luther more likely hung the document on the door of the church matter-of-factly to announce the ensuing academic discussion around it that he was organizing.

The 95 Theses, which would later become the foundation of the Protestant Reformation, were written in a remarkably humble and academic tone, questioning rather than accusing. The overall thrust of the document was nonetheless quite provocative. The first two of the theses contained Luther’s central idea, that God intended believers to seek repentance and that faith alone, and not deeds, would lead to salvation. The other 93 theses, a number of them directly criticizing the practice of indulgences, supported these first two."

Here is a listing of Luther's 95 Theses that were posted on
the door of the Wittenberg Castle church.

Let The Little Children Come ~ A Review

Let the Little Children Come makes sharing the gospel easy with their Gospel Tracts and Evangelism Tools Sample Pack. Each of the 10 tracts/tools included in this pack will help in sharing the gospel of Christ with others.

Woodless Book

Many of us are familiar with the Wordless Book. It is a very
simple and straightforward way of presenting the gospel to others.
Gold represents heaven.
It is God's desire that we all be with Him in heaven.
Black represents SIN.
We have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.
Apart from Christ we cannot be saved.
Red represents the blood that Christ shed for us.
Jesus came to earth as a man, died and took the punishment for
our sins by dying on the cross.
The white page represents what happens when we accept Christ. When we repent of our sin, realize that Christ's death on the cross is the only way to salvation, it is not by works that we are saved, it is by grace through faith. Upon salvation we are made clean in Christ Jesus.
Again, the Gold also represents our relationship with our heavenly Father that we will one day have with Him in eternity forever.
Green reminds us of things that grow.
As believers we need to continually grow in our relationship with Jesus.
Others around us should see the fruits of Christ in us.

John 3:16 FlipAbout

This fun little flip book folds around to reveal 4 different panels.

Gospel Buttons FlipAbout

This little flip book has 4 different sided.

God desires for all to be with Him in heaven.

We have all sinned and therefore are separated from Him and cannot get to heaven.

Christ came to earth, died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins.

By repenting of our sins and believing that it is only by Christ's
death on the cross that we can be saved and have salvation. It is not
by works.

The Most Amazing House Pop-Up Tract

This really neat 3-D pop-up contains 5 different pop-up displays that
explain the gospel. At the end is a simple prayer that can be prayed.

God made the earth and everything in it?

The Lost Easter Egg Pop-Up Tract

This would be a great addition to your child's Easter basket.

share the gospel. When asked about the meaning of the bracelet you can
share the gospel of Christ.

This sample kit is a perfect way to see a variety of tracts and tools that one can use to spread the gospel of Christ. Definitely check out the website for a variety of products and resources. Sharing the gospel does not have to be intimidating. Matthew 28:19 says; "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations." And Romans 10: 13-14 says; "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" All throughout Scripture we are exhorted to spread the gospel of Christ, to plant the seed of truth.

The Star Spangled Banner

Recently when I was at Half Price Books with my kiddos I spotted this book, The Rocket's Red Glare: Celebrating the History of "The Star-Spangled Banner". With the recent uproar in the news about kneeling during the national anthem during sporting events I decided that it was time to make sure my young children understood the importance behind this great song. I for one am greatly disgusted by the lack of pride, honor, reverence, respect that players refuse to show by kneeling. They are also setting a horrible example to younger generations that look up to them and model after them. Okay, back to the book.

The book does an incredible job at going back to the early 1800's when Britain was at war with France. It talks about how Francis Scott Key never imagined that friendship, loyalty, or patriotism would place him on such a perilous mission. As Key watched Fort McHenry and the American Flag waving by the dawn's early light the thunder of the British canons awakened the sky. The sky lit up as Fort McHenry was attacked. The British fired over 1,500 round at the fort. Mr. Key and his comrades could still see the stars and stripes of the American flag.  "O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming." Frances Scott Keys poem would eventually be turned into a song.

Our national anthem is a song about freedom and honoring the bravery and sacrifice that our service men and women make to protect our country. It is also to pay tribute to those that have lost their lives for our freedom. It is America's song! It is our National Anthem!

Included at the end of the book is a CD which includes the National Anthem, America the Beautiful, and Heaven Was Needing a Hero.

She May Be Small..

But She is Mighty!

My daughter is 9 years old but many people often mistake her for
being much younger. She is unique and very special. Looking at
her you would never know that for most of her life she has been
fighting an uphill battle! At a very young age she was diagnosed with
FPIES, and not a simple case either. She reacted to literally all foods. At
9 months old she became dependent on elemental formula and a feeding tube.
Little did we know that our nightmare healthwise with her
was only beginning. Over the years our little warrior would go on to
be diagnosed with GERD, Intestinal Failure, and so
much more. But you know what? My daughter is one of the happiest kiddos you
will ever meet. She doesn't let her disabilities get in the way of her abilities.
Recently at a weekend family camp she was finally old enough to try out
the rock climbing wall. Since she is on the small side and does have
a history of upper body weakness it was decided that a certified buddy
would climb with her. Well, my daughter showed us just how strong and
brave she was. She climbed that wall like she owned it! Once she got to
the top she used the zip line to zip her way down.
